HSD Foam Turbine Jets
I figured the lack of a good manual would merit a good forum to share issues and ideas regarding these jets. I just maiden my Super Viper today and it flies well. I'm having an electrical issue I'm going to need to work out but other than that the jet flew very nice. It does take a lot of runway with these little wheels. "I fly from grass" I'll try to keep you up to date on flight progress.

I got the PNP version and put my P-60 in it. I need to get a larger nose wheel for our grass field which might make me upgrade the front strut. Overall a few mods and this should be a great jet.

I "think" it's a 60oz tank and I set my timer for 6mins and had some fuel to play with. I only have three flights on it so far. Also, I forgot my taxi tank which would have conserved some fuel.

I fly off grass with the EDF version and nose wheel isn't a problem. I do have problem with the foam on the mains wearing down very quickly though. They look like Pirelli PZeros at the moment. Awesome jet. Just a cheap 1.5m foamy version of the Avanti.

My Feedback: (19)
I think Global is bringing in the latest version. The latest version can be gotten here. My friends and I have spent $1000s with Rocky and he is a good guy.

What are the servos and control linkages like? I've flown the foamie electric versions of a lot of these - and what they use on those planes is purely unacceptable and dangerous for an electric let alone a turbine.
Being that the kit turbine versions cost appreciably more than the PNP electric versions, I would love to see some close ups if you can post some photos, in anticipation of seeing appropriate hardware. I would not be interested in re-outfitting the entire plug and play plastic plane with reasonable linkages and servos - but if they came with turbine quality accessories, I would potentially think about one of these. Thanks in advance for any photos and discussion on these types of hardware installations.
As far as the pipe goes, are they double walled?

The servos seem sufficient "digital/metal gear" and the linkages are a heaver plastic. I would prefer ball-links and something along the lines of a Dubro hardware though. I must say there is no slop and it seems to be up to the task. The pipe is double walled. I will try and snap some pics for you later.

No problem Eddie. Here are a few pics of what Global Jet Club is carrying. Also, I purchased mine from DragonHobbyusa and they were great to deal with. I had an issue with the gear sequencer which I figured out was my fault.
"IMPORTANT"
There is a supplied sequencer/power distribution box with these jets. I did not know that is was distributing power and I used a JR AR9100 Receiver. Those that are familiar with this receiver know that it has redundant battery leads that handle the power distribution. Do not use this receiver with this jet or if you must you will need to remove the HSD power box. I created one heck of a mess with these two. They must have been fighting for power and to make a long story short I drained "two" LIFe 2100 packs after only three flights and bad things were starting to happen in flight. I landed and checked the batteries and figured out what was going on. I will now be using a receiver that does not supply it's own power.
